Hundreds
of surfers, beachcombers and curiosity seekers gathered at the beach around
Avalon Pier on Sunday, November 4, 2007 to enjoy the remnants of Hurricane
Noel far to the north. On this sunny day in the mid 60’s, waves
up to 20 feet tall broke along the sand bar just south of the old pier,
providing some of the best surfing conditions the area has seen in the
last several years. |
